As an aspiring illustrator myself, you create what I dream of someday coming up with!
You're style is fantastic and breathtaking! The colors are so rich and vibrant too!!

(just for fun you might like the work of Susan Seddon Boulet :3)

Aw, that's such a sweet thing to say.
You're going to have your own style. Just a matter of time and practice. And giving japanimation a rest sometime. Lol.
I do love Susan Seddon Boulet!
But I think I love Josephine Wall a bit more. Cause I'm a kitschy bastard.. check her out.

Yeah, I'm working on it (I love the mix of fantasy with surrealism) :3
What do you mean by japanimation? I haven't drawn anime for years haha
And wow, she's incredible! I can see where the inspiration comes from,
though I also see your own work to be very unique as well ^^

Surrealism is my favorite! Shame we need realism for that and it is a difficult skill to acquire. I usually don't have the patience.
Well, you might think you haven't drawn it for years, but i haven't seen anything in your gallery that's -not- affected by that stylization.
Every evening i want to be a different artist when i grow up :P

Yeah, I know what you mean, but that's what drives me to illustration, it allows us to see and create surrealistic work~
Oh haha, I didn't think you'd check my profile. Yeah, that's hard to explain... I create toony characters for mascot and character work, the pokemon thing was just for fun on tumblr for a pallete challenge by request, and the space thing was an assignment to create a "sci-fi con poster" (where copyright characters were needed for that one assignment), so I can see why it comes off like that. Honestly I haven't uploaded much to this account in general, aside from quick works that the devaintart "type" enjoys, if that makes sense. I'm hoping to possibly start over fresh soon on a new account and just make a more professional presence online... I really would also like to take time to apply more "realistic fantasy" to my work like Unicorn Acrylic (stash link), instead of too much toony work- though I'm trying to find a nice balance between the two.

Really? You have such a wonderful style now though; may I ask if you went to an art school?

Dont get me wrong here. There's nothing wrong with toons, i think they're great. But only if they're our own toons and dont look like a copy of every manga out there...
Investing time in acrylic is a great idea. And animal studies in general. You can always add a horn after :D
Art schools are a botheration. I assume they're fun enough, but how do you find a job after graduating is beyond me. So you mostly end up asking people what fries do they want... I have a graphic design B.A...

Haha that makes sense :3 I guess my quick designs
do look pretty reminiscent of the "average" toony style, so I'll
try to work on putting a spin on it ^^
Yep, that's true! I want to work a bit more in acrylic when I have some free
time after college apps ^^;  And I actually studied realistic horse anatomy
for that painting and did just "add a horn after". I wanted to put a unique twist on
landscape painting that people wouldn't have thought of (I did sell it in an auction for a
few hundred, so I must have done something right :D )
Ah, I see. Personally I'm trying to get into some schools where they have connections with
some of the big name companies to work with. It may be some on and off freelance at times but
I think I'll find something that doesn't involve fries; unless its packaging design haha.
I also think it's really great that you know graphic design and illustration, because it works so well together
to know both ^^ (Also I love the pug earrings you recently posted! Just wanted to say that :3 )
