The Internet happened to me in a rather peculiar way. In 2005, I happened to glimpse Amy Brown's fairy art on a school computer, and from that moment on, I was obsessed with creating my own faeries and critters, and putting them online.
For a few years I've been doing it on a rather clunky website called Elfwood. It was the only place I knew how to use, but it wasn't great, and got progressively less user friendly, causing me to flee and find another artistic refuge.
It was Deviantart, the year was 2007, and I was in love.
I could submit my work without waiting for a moderator to approve it, the forums were so friendly, and best of all, I had an insane variety of art I like to follow and learn from. I collected them in my favorites, I treasured them and came back to look again and learn. I know what you're thinking...but I've never copied anything
More than introducing me to a rainbow of art styles, people on DA showed me cultural trends, tv shows, videogames i had to try. All those shaped me and my art to a great extent - so that even after 12 years of being on the site, I'm happy to be here, despite the many changes this platform has undergone.
I hope it will stay around, and won't change too much, because I'm really happy with how it is
